A big leap!

The Last 5 months have been a rollercoaster ride. So here I am back to the blogworld and I really don't know how long it is gonna last this time. I've been in Kanbay for almost 3 months now. The work environment is pretty cool. Everybody seems to be busy around here and everyone seem to be working in a very tense pace.

My first project (G.E Japan) was a totally screwed up experience. But I guess I learnt a lot in the process. I was given the ownership of 2 modules which is supposed to be a good thing but equally bad because I had only about 4-5 experience in Vision+ without exposure in a single execution!!!..And I don't know how I pulled it off. So at the end of the project I got a bad remark for one module saying "Test coverage very poor", I cannot be blamed because the testscripts were signed off by the same client. So gives a shit anyway, the project is over and I'm lucky to be here.

I can't believe that I finally got myself to move out of my house and I actually survived the last 3 months being alone here. I moved in to a new 3 bedroom flat last week and I am sharing it with 2 other colleagues. It is a very nice place. The only disadvantage is the house doesn't come with any furniture! I unpacked all my stuff last night and in the process I ended up making an environment friendly table out of cartons and duct tape!The important thing is, I have a room to myself. I definitely need my own privacy. I watched "2 Fast 2 Furious" after I fixed up the system and the computer. Everything sounds amazing, touch wood!

Bluetooth remote acess (K700i)

After a lot of reading and experimenting I found some "remote applications" for the K700i.U can find them here. In order to allow the phone to access the PC, the 'human Interface Device' through the Bluetooth Advanced configuration must be enabled. This feature is so cool that it lets me use my phone's joystick like a mouse. The application runs through bluetooth so distance between the computer and the phone is not an issue. There are different .HID softwares specific to the application you would like to control. For egs there is a .HID for the Windows Media player which acts like a conventional remote control while watching Movies or playing Mp3's.

I forgot to mention that I got a new Phone too. This year started of with a lot of new gadgets ;-) . Its been a big jump from my good old techie T68i to the K700i. So what do I feel about the new one.....
Ive been using it for 2 weeks now, Its been great. Although I longed to get a N6600 I went for the Sony Ericsson for its sleek design and 4x digital camera. Hmm ... Sony Ericsson seems to have improved its crappy software.
I am listing a few characteristics about the phone which might help decide if its really worth the price.
+s
1. Very good user interface and Stable software
2. 43 mb INTERNAL storage
3. Superior picture quality, (upto 1280*960 pixels) More than the resolution, Id like to stress about the superior picture clarity when compared to the N6600.
4. Comes with a built in flash for the cam, can be used while taking videos too. The videos are stored in Mpeg 4 format. For playing these video files you would need the 'mpegable' player. Search for it on google :-)
5.File manager sorts out all the files in specific folders. Mp3, pics, videos(.3gp only supported), Themes
6. Mp3 Player
7. Radio, Bluettooth, IR,
8. Remote Access to pc using Bluetooth Pairing ;-) (woooooooow)
9. Java games are compatible.

now for the -'s
1. Poor Battery backup, Nothing close to what they claim of it. Max to max One and a half days, when used regularly.(beats the N6600 when compared)
2. Picture Quality is poor when shot at night. Not too bad but maybe expect too much.
3.Not many applicaitons which can be downloaded and sent to the phone.
4. The Transfer time taken through IR port is Long.
5. Phone acts sloppy with Java games running.
6. The keypad is very slippery, Not as good as the T610.
7. memory non-expandable

Now finally considering all the +'s n -'s I would say the phone is worth the price, Please post a comment If u r looking for some java games, applications or some flashy themes.

My Blog is looking so dead. Feeling so wreched coz it was coming up so well, until ..... Dont wanna brood over it now. Am gonna make this thing look alive! K so its been about a month since i blogged last. So im gonna put the last one month in a nutshell,
0. Got my stuff DVD writer n The awesome Audigy2 creative sound card WOW, Dint fix it till Jan 1st week
1.My bro n Sis n Law had dome down,(just married)
2.Dad n Mom got back the next day.
3. preps for the big day, (dec 26th) reception at the Taj, TSUNAMI strikes the coast of tamilnadu. Sad! About 12,000 dead or missing from India.
4. All went on fine. adel n pradeep came all the way, from banglore for it.
5. Sweet sis in Law
6. Hard Disk went bust, 3days late got it fixed.
7.Dvd writer seems to be working fine, the sound card is awesome as I expected.
8. In to the Morgan-Stanley Isys project!

Monster cables!!!!

i remember giving my speaker cables to my uncle coz they were old and I wasnt using the speakers it came with. I just got it back frm him coz I got my dad's speakers working. And I just found out that its MONSTER "superflex cable" , thats like min 1000 bucks a metre! MAN! I cant beleive myself sometimes! Not coz i gave it to ma uncle, I was planning on throwing it away :-) I can be really ignorant and careless at times too.

I have asked my brother to bring down the B&W LCR 3 (center) and the Kef 8s surrounds, Hope he doesnt forget about the amp too, or else I am gonna be stuck with too many speakers and no amplifiers to drive it. If any of yall have any suggestion regarding the speakers mentioned please post before its too late.

Some advancement in my setup

About three weeks back, I had decided to get my dad's old speakers (Akai sw-1571) refurbished. My idea was to use these as my rears for my home theatre system. I had taken them to this "guy" (my uncle's friend) called Ali, hes got a shop on richie street. When I first got there I had second thoughts about leaving my speakers with him.I lost hope when I saw his shop. It was a messy 50 sqfoot shop with 2 tiny rooms. And the whole places was stacked up with speakers. On his counter there were some voice coils and huge magnets on which he was currently working. He saw my speakers and told me that it would take about 4 days to get it fixed. There was a lot of work to be done. So after four days I went back there and he was busy working on a JBl studio monitor. I was so preoccupied with the rest of the stuff lying in his shop, i completely forgot about my speakers. When I began to realise how busy he was and the contacts he had, I was amazed. From A.R rehman's Studios to HFO,Pasha, dublin. He was the man behind speaker maintenance. He asked me to come back after a week for my speakers. I started going there more often, not for my speakers obviously. I even got to see wires and RC cables that cost upto 600 bucks a metre!! Finally after 3 weeks of loafing about in his shop,he got so fed up that he delivered my speakers. The cost?? just 600 bucks! Will try to post a snap of his shop soon.

Delhi public School goes down in History! India is one of the most reserved countries when it comes to values and morales! Hmmm NOT any more, the other day (bout a week back) I saw this article about kids and porno in school and yday while casually browsing the 'www' something caught my attention. It was a blog which had the link to the delhi Public school video....and it had hundreds of comments to it. people from paris, brasil and the rest of the world were so impressed..... :-) yeayea I saw it ofcourse, but I was shocked to see something like this happening in INDIA. Cant imagine it happening in Junior High school. The video was reeeealy low and can u beleive the guy(16 yrs) shot it on his mobile fone forwarded it to his friends(MMS) for 100 bucks? I feel pityful for the girl...her future is ruined! and in a place like INDIA its (ruined) to the power of infinity. Feeling really bad for her and her family! I wouldnt want to add the link here....and I request yall not to look for it..

Hmm Anil took us for a ride man, after all the expectations I had from that meeting !@#$. It was just another lame networking offer to retire early. I mean who the f*** would want to retire just coz there was some sick way of making a lot of money. I mean, even if I made a lot of money out of it, I wouldnt be content with what I was doing. So as before back to square one, we are still working towards our project. I am hoping that the draft cut is ready in the next 6 months atleast. ...gosh!

Have bought a new card to add to the "setup" . Its a CREATIVE SB-0244 ,6.1 channel; THX certified ;Dolby EX card. Its been bought through www.newegg.com .Can't lay my hands on it until Dec 16th. Can't wait.... I plan to wire the mains to my Kenwood and use the Sansui for the Front n Rear centers. Have no idea what I'm gonna do about the rears..Dont have speakers for the centers or rears :-) that leaves me short of 4 speakers. Am actually broke. The card worked upto 55$ +5$(shipping). Have also bought a LITEON DVD writer(72$) thank god its got free shipping. Thanx to abaan for taking the trouble.
